Man Utd head coach Ruben Amorim confesses he cannot hide from his troubling record and says it is expected that club former stars are criticizing him.
On Tuesday, the club's record goalscorer Wayne Rooney stated on his podcast that "the heart has vanished" from his old team.
The Portuguese manager has managed just 18 wins from his 49 matches in control, including nine out of thirty-three in the Premier League, where he has still to achieve back-to-back successive wins.
Although senior Old Trafford sources are certain that the club owner remains backing the manager, failure to defeat newly promoted Sunderland on Saturday will ignite renewed discussion about his future heading into another fortnight pause in domestic football.
"It is understandable," said the Portuguese coach, when questioned about the former striker's remarks. "One cannot run away from the performance."
