A Pair of Arrests Following Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

The assault caused the partial closure of the CTA tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking area.

An additional two individuals are now in custody related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of robbery and assault near the location. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at approximately 08:10 GMT after reports came in regarding a number of people hurt by an irritating chemical thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - an event that police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 parking facility for a short time.
